The ASC Nurse Manager is responsible for planning and coordinating the ASC surgery schedule and the daily activities of the ASC staff, ensuring proper coverage in all areas. In addition, the ASC Nurse Manager coordinates the ASC meetings, Quality Improvement Process, Peer Review, Benchmarking and all activities related to the ASC.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS• Responsible for the functioning of the ASC -Scheduling of surgery -Computer modules -Inventory Control -Creating & maintaining policies of ASC -Maintaining State Certifications -Maintaining AAAHC Accreditation• Responsible for managing the ASC staff.• Monitors daily operating activity of the ASC such as work load, staff productivity, daily surgery schedule, nursing practices, etc.• Ensure adequate level of staffing by interviewing, recommending hiring of, orienting and training nursing staff.• Evaluate the performance of staff in conjunction with physician and ASC personnel.• Responsible for ensuring the ASC’s compliance with OSHA regulations.• Responsible for implementing, planning and evaluating educational information with the assistance of the ASC Medical Director.• Responsible for obtaining and maintaining properly operating medical and surgical equipment and contacting appropriate personnel for repairs and purchases.• Responsible for the ASC Committee – creating agenda, recording meeting minutes and generating monthly reports.• Responsible for the budget of the ASC• Coordinate anesthesia staffing with Spectrum• Coordinates the Quality Improvement Program -QI Infection Control -Peer Review Process -Adverse Outcomes/ Sentinel Events -Patient Survey Responses -Anesthesia Quality Improvement -Benchmarking -Post operative phone calls -Delay of cases -Yearly summaries
