Imaging Health Information Associate- Per Diem

Job Responsibilities:

The Imaging Health Information Associate serves as direct support for the organization of films, film jackets and reports as well as electronic and paper records, and faxing of imaging related health information.  The person in this role is expected to demonstrate exceptional internal and external customer service. Must have the ability to process large volumes of work and multi task with great accuracy.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

• Pull films  for all modalities, prepares and organizes according to schedule for next day, ensuring that prior films / reports are available for comparison

• Utilizes all forms of electronic data sharing including:  InterMed PACs, outside facility PACs that InterMed can access, ITR and CD importing both incoming and outgoing
• Acquires all pertinent prior images for upcoming and completed exams
• Receive all films/image requests and ensures timely delivery to requesting party
• Provides updates to department manager on progress of film/image  requests, and any difficult cases
• Communicate with courier as needed for stat deliveries
• Maintains film/images sign in/out function in the Utilize RIS (Radiology Information System)
• Enters orders into RIS for outside studies received that will be imported into the PACS system
• Conducts film purging process and disposes of all documents containing PHI appropriately
• File all films that have been utilized and authorized to return to file room
• Assist other staff members as needed
• Monitors exams requiring wet readings, scan preliminary report attaching to Imaging order and monitors systems for timely transcription
• Acts as primary contact for providers with regard to  missing reports and addendum requests
• Troubleshoots file room issues, missing films, physician requests etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned and deemed necessary
