Urgent Care Clinical Coordinator

Schedule:Full Time 32-40 hrs/wk
  

Job Responsibilities:
  • Directly supervises clinical and administrative staff within the department
    • Develops New Employee Orientation within department
    • Performs initial and regular competencies of clinical staff to assure clinical standards are met and maintained
    • Facilitates annual evaluations of staff
    • Mentors and councils staff to include initiating Performance Improvement Plans
    • Assures adequate staffing levels based on physician to staff ratio
    • Coordinate and conduct regular staff meetings
  • Evaluates workloads, patient flow and efficiencies and collaborates with Practice Manager on improvements
  • Acts as first line resource for staff and physicians
  • Fosters intradepartmental support and collaboration
  • Acts as second line resource for IT issues
  • Authorizes physician schedule changes
  • Champions organizational quality care initiatives
  • Facilitates first line patient complaints with resolution and documentation
  • Distributes practice management reports as directed by Department Chief and Practice Manager
  • Coordinates and/or monitors staffing hours and payroll records to minimize overtime while maintaining adequate staffing levels
  • Manages second & third level patient communication, i.e, no-show letters, and collaborates with primary care practices regarding patient discharge
  • Coordinates clinical competencies for staff to include program development, content, assessment, documentation and maintenance of training records
  • Serves as ergonomic liaison to Safety Administrator
  • Provides coverage for manager in his/her absence
  • Fosters an enhanced team environment
  • Prioritizes, organizes, and plans work independently

Job Qualifications:

 

  • Unencumbered Maine RN license
  • Three Years Hospital Nursing and/or Urgent Care experience preferred
  • Emergency Severity Index (ESI-5) Triage Competency and Pediatric Early Warning Score (PEWS) knowledge
  • BLS
  • I.V. and Phlebotomy Competent
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Successful completion of RN program; BSN preferred
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in a clinical setting preferred
  • Proficiency in MS office applications; Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
  • Excellent professional judgment and decision making ability
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability and willingness to provide excellent customer service to patients, InterMed colleagues and vendors

Other Job Information (if applicable):
40 hours per week, 8 hour shifts between the hours of 7:00 am and 7:00 pm. Some holiday and weekend coverage as necessary.
